Why Regular Gutter Cleaning Is Important in Greystanes

Water damage is the biggest risk

When gutters overflow, water tracks back under the roof line, into ceilings and down external walls. Repair bills for water-damaged plasterboard, eaves and cornices dwarf the cost of a gutter clean.

Pest and fire risk

Damp leaf litter is exactly where rats and cockroaches like to nest. In dry summers, that same litter becomes a genuine fire risk on any home with tiles or a metal roof.

How often to clear them

For most Greystanes homes we recommend clearing at least twice a year — once after autumn and once before summer. Homes with big gums nearby often need a third clear before storm season.
